Andy Sakmar started Sakmar & Associates in 1978. They moved out of the historic train depot building in and into the newly renovated fire hall in downtown Rochester in 1993, which is where their office is currently. He fondly named his world-class Real Estate Office, the Ann Building in memory of his loving wife, who passed away from Leukemia in 1988.
Andy is well respected in the Rochester Community. Andy continues to build on his reputation demonstrating his commitment and support for his community. He has won many awards throughout his Real Estate Career. Andy received the “Good Neighbor Award in 2012, Realtor of the Year in 2016 and the Century 21 President’s Awards for customer satisfaction many years in a row. Andy also served as the President of the Rochester Board of Realtors.
Andy said one of his biggest achievements was being an instrumental part of a rezoning issue to bring the world headquarter of GMF Robotics to Rochester. While he was the President of the Rochester Board of Realtors, his staff, and the Rochester Board of Realtor members helped to make this the biggest special election voter turnout in Michigan history and one of the biggest wins. This helped bring jobs to Michigan and expand their economic base.
Andy Sakmar has a special talent for making good things happen. He stated “We’re in the people business and our work isn’t done until the customer is happy. The real reason the company is so successful is the quality and integrity of the people that work for him, although it couldn’t have come this far without is leadership.
